(I'm about to buy a 120GB external hard drive (firewire) that I plan to use to back-up my iTunes library, iPhoto library and Word & Excel documents.)
What are the basics that I need to know about backing-up important files and documents to an external hard drive?
What software will I need, if any? (I have Backup 3.1.1 as part of the dotMac subscription.)
How often would you recommend that I back-up?
