AT&T

AT&T has introduced a number of sales for Apple's iPhone 15 this month, offering up to $1,000 off the iPhone 15 Pro or iPhone 15 Pro Max with an eligible smartphone trade-in. Models with lower storage capacities can be purchased at no cost thanks to these discounts, and of course you'll need to purchase the new smartphone on a qualifying installment agreement.

You can get up to $830 off the iPhone 15 or iPhone 15 Plus as well, with the same stipulations as the Pro devices. Both offers will be delivered via monthly bill credits, starting within three bills after trade-in is completed. It'll be applied in equal amounts over the term of your installment agreement.

For the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max offer, you'll need to trade in a device with a value of $230 or higher to get the full $1,000 off markdown. You'll get up to $830 in bill credits with a trade-in value of $130 to $229 and up to $350 in bill credits with a trade-in value of $35 to $129.

For older iPhone models, AT&T is offering the 128GB iPhone 14 at $10.99/month with no trade-in required. Similarly, the iPhone 14 Pro is available at $15/month with no trade-in required. For these, all you'll need is to purchase the smartphones on an installment plan and pick or upgrade to an eligible unlimited plan.

AT&T is also taking $300 off any Apple Watch when you purchase two at the same time. Like smartphone plans, you'll have to buy two Apple Watches on an installment plan, add at least one new line, and activate both on your wireless plan. Afterwards, you'll get up to $300 in bill credits over 36 months.

Verizon

At Verizon, you can get a special bundle offer if you're interested in purchasing the new iPhone 15 Pro this holiday season. When you do pick up the new smartphone with a new line on an Unlimited Plus or Unlimited Ultimate plan, Verizon will reward you with an Apple TV 4K (64GB) and six months of Apple One at no cost... What we want or desire to know is how do we get iPhone Pro Max deals WITHOUT signing up for a costlier cellular plan? Or maybe buying one as a gift with no carriers involved at all. Now that’s what we would consider a ‘deal’!
iPhone demand is always strong, so it just wouldn't be a smart business decision. That's the whole point of sales anyway, to move excess inventory.

The carriers pay the same (full) price for new iPhones as regular customers. Why (how?) would any carrier put them on sale without a plan involved?

No they dont
Effectively, they do indeed. When there's a slight single-digit rebate involved, it's just enough to cover shipping/warehousing/overhead/obligated marketing requirements. Don't forget about the billions (yes with a B) that carriers have to set aside or borrow to cover their payment(s) to Apple. That has costs as well.

Android is a different story.

None of these carrier “deals” are good. Especially when you’re like me and have a single line.
Honestly, I'd just get the Apple Gift Card deals that come out this time of year and use them to buy an unlocked phone to just stay on an affordable phone plan like Tello or Mint. I roll over my data and pay $12 per line, per month, including taxes and fees. Everyone's needs are different, but it's good to consider alternatives to the big carriers.

The only real deal I've come across so far is from Red Pocket. You get $300 off any iPhone

Fine Print:

12-month device lock. $100 off any iPhone plus $200 rebate with 3 months of AutoPay on qualifying plans starting at $20/month on our GSMA network. Available for both new customers & existing customers on a qualifying plan. Offer cannot be combined with other promos. Limited stock.

GSMA = AT&T

YMMV for their service and quality.

Beginning tomorrow, StraightTalk is offering the iPhone SE3 64GB for $49.

After 1 month of service (but 60 days), it automatically becomes unlocked for any carrier.

Chase is running their annual bonus on Apple stuff. Points earned from the Sapphire card are worth an extra 25% in their Apple Store this month, so yesterday I bought a 15 Pro at effectively 25% off.

I hadn't planned to upgrade from my 13 pro, but its battery is at 81% health, so I was going to have to eventually pay for a new battery. So that cost coupled with the discount was enough to make me do it.

This was my first thought. I have AT&T and to get the offer described for the iPhone 15 Pro, I would have to switch to one of their unlimited plans at a much higher cost than what I now pay. Odd that the article mentions this only in reference to the iPhone 14 Pro. I guess they're as confused as I am about At&T's small print.

Came here to say similar. Sad that there is literally no way to get any kind of discount on a (non-refurbished) iPhone. Even sadder that Apple seems to be bowing to the network operators more lately. First eSIM only and now no iPhone financing at all except through the cartel.

Article hasn’t been updated for AT&T.
iPhone 14 is now only $5/mo for 36mos on installment. Pretty decent IMO.
