For those who choose to use the standard ear buds that came with your iPhone and wondered where the bass went, I found that the best equalizer setting (in the iPod settings) is R & B. In this setting the treble, voice and other sounds are still clear and crisp, but the bass is there now.
Imo, It's an ideal general setting for all the music genres that I have on my iPhone (from Classical, rap, hard rock and dance). :D

The reason I'm still using my original iPhone buds, is because I like the hands-free option of taking calls and pausing/skipping tracks.

Flat is best for me.

There are other earbuds that have the button on them that let you take calls, pause and skip tracks. For example, I use the v-moda vibe duos. They are excellent and they never slip out of my ears. That is why I don't like the provided buds- I had to keep adjusting them every 5 minutes.

I keep my EQ set to Rock. IMO, it makes the music I listen to sound best.

It depends on the song/album. Most of my songs sound best with Rock, some with Electronic, and a few with Off, because the bass drum just kills my ears on those songs with any preset on.

Most of the time i set to Rock too.. great high, mid and low. Love this setting most of the times.

But sometimes when i wanna more bass, i'll set to Bass Booster

:)

This thread has risen from the dead.....

I may as well update my above post:

I still like the 'Rock' EQ setting for most of my music. I am still using the v-moda vibe duos as my headphones of choice. They still sound as good as they did when I got them back in February. I even use them at the gym and when I run- no problems even with all the sweating.

Can you (or anyone else) recommend earbuds with this function that are NOT in-ear (i.e., noise isolating)? Thanks.
