The best iPhone case for the White iPhone 5

Mainly one reason I don't use cases on my phone is because they're all so ugly. The iPhone 5 is a phone made to be shown off "naked", not stuck in a disgusting POS cover.

However, I am starting to get nicks on the bezel even though I'm being super careful, and I have had fatal drops with other devices in the past, and knowing how easy it is to scratch the iPhone 5, I'm considering a case.

Now, what are the best cases that still make the iPhone 5 in white look good? I'm considering the White/Grey Otterbox Commuter because it's not as bad, but what all would you say is a case for the white iPhone 5 that is good both in protection and in looks?
 
I use the Bodyguardz pure to protect my screen and then use various colors of this case from ebay.

The combination of the good screen protector and the cheap but ultra thin case adds very little bulk and has done a great job protecting my phone. They don't last forever and I have cracked several with wear, but they're cheap so I order multiples and keep them on hand. I like to change up the color, but I like that when I use this style, you can still see the phone through it and it looks great in just about every color with the white phones. I've dropped my phone and cracked my screen protector, but the phone itself has had no damage at all and the screen protectors are replaceable for only $12. Lots of my family and friends also use my combination of protectors after seeing how nice mine looked.

I switch between the Caudabe Veil and the Caudabe Perimetric. The Veil when I want a naked feel and the Perimetric when I want more protection. For your needs. Sounds like a Perimetric would be better. It's still translucent on the back, so you can preserve the look of the phone. But it's got dual layer protection which is pretty strong. I've had mine for a while now and it's still holding on strong. Dropped it a couple of times with nary an issue.
 
If you're only worried about the sides, I would just buy the extreme side protectors from sticker boy that also covers the chamfered edges. You can get it in the same color as the aluminum used in the phone.

You tell us if they're "all ugly, disgusting POS's". You need to clarify what you consider good looking. Don't put the cart before the horse. Clarify your requirements. Otherwise, browse this subforum and check out the various options.

What's it's "made to be" is irrelevant. Using it the way one wants and prefers to use it is all that matters.

I was in the same boat as you, never used a case because I loved the sleek look of the white iPhone 5...until I dropped it and cracked it. :mad:

If you're looking for a nice case you should check out the iPhone cases from Tiny Prints: http://www.tinyprints.com/shop/iphone-cases.htm. There are a ton of great designs to choose from and you can also create a customized one with pictures or even a monogram..these cases are definitely not ugly like a lot of the other cases out there. I also really like that they aren't bulky like most cases, but still do a great job protecting your phone.

I also would recommend checking out the screen protectors from Zagg: http://www.zagg.com/invisibleshield/apple-iphone-5-cases-screen-protectors-covers-skins-shields.php. I go for "Extreme Protection" ..it seems a bit pricey but it is definitely worth it!

I had the Elago Slim in red for a while, NICE looking case w/ the white phone. Lots of them on eBay.

I have never been an advocate for phone cases because I also like to go naked with my phone because it looks so clean and I like the fit without a case. However, I've shattered many screens and had a lot of scratches which devalues my phone and I should really take better care of it. I'm so in love with my case that I have on right now and it's the longest I've had one. It does add some bulk to it but it still feels really slim and because the sides are curved and has good grip I have no problem with the fit.
