So I've gone through about 20 different brands (not exaggerating... making liberal use of Amazon's return policy) of Glass Screen Protectors and decided to try an alternative (another MR member mentioned this brand, so they got props). Here's the link:

This isn't Glass, but an extremely thin but ultra clear film. I'm usually not a fan of films, but this one applies with no bubbles (very similar to applying a Glass SP). It's not going to protect from falls/impacts but I'm primary interested in scratch protection. Best part is no edge lift (the pictures on Amazon are *exactly* what it looks like on your iPhone).
It's a bit of a pain to install because the cutouts are exact and there's maybe 0.15mm worth of 'wiggle' room (i.e. almost none at all).
It's not quite as smooth as Glass, but it's smoother than the iPhone's display/glass.
