I'm getting an external monitor for my MacBook Pro soon, is there any way that's better than any other way in regards to hooking it up? My monitor supports HDMI, VGA, and DVI.

Thanks,
Nik

With the cable? :D

Just grab a Mini-DisplayPort > DVI adapter and you're set.

i'd say a mini displayport to HDMI adaptor and a HDMI cable. That way you can connect your MPB to a much larger display if you wanted to. Check out amazon for good deals on adaptors.

They ship to the UK. MDP to HDMI adapters you find on Amazon are probably resold Monoprice units.

Most likely... My MDP to HDMI adaptor was rather expensive... £13, but I'd imagine that the cost of shipping to the UK + the cost of the product from monoprice (and also crappy exchange rates) would end up costing similar.

As said above, DVI and HDMI will be identical in quality, they are both digital connections. VGA is an analog connection and is not going to give you the quality and accuracy of a digital connection. HDMI is basically a DVI connection with the capability to carry audio as well.

Looks like I'm going with DVI as the monitor I'm getting doesn't come with the actual HDMI cable. Thanks guys.
