I've got my new Mac Pro up and running.
After a little bit of work I get all my files, applications, licenses up to date.
When I finally have my hard drive exactly like I want it, I back it up to a second hard drive.
The next time I started my computer I ended up with the blue screen of death.
Nothing on the monitor but blue, seas of blue.
I tried starting up from my back-up hard drive.
It's a clone of my hard drive so sure enough, the blue screen of death.

I put in the Leopard install DVD and did an "Archive and Install."
That worked and I am now up and running.

It sounds like Unsanity LLC is to blame.
They have something in the system folder called "ApplicationEnhancer.bundle" which is causing that "BSOD"
Thank you, Unsanity.

APE is a well-known (OK, perhaps not well-ENOUGH-known) Leopard killer. They say as much on their web site: http://www.unsanity.com/haxies/ape

Apple won't touch (as in diagnose/repair) a machine with Haxies installed, whether supposedly compatible or not.

Edit: Not all APE infestations come from Unsanity. Rogue Amoeba, for one, includes it with some of their products and don't make it obvious. Been there, had that crash.
