Seems much thicker much better made than my iPhone cableIt is the standard 2m metre Lightning cable that has been around for years.
Yes, it is slightly thicker but I've had two fray so bad they don't work any more.
is amazing on the iPad Pro I wish all the Apple products have the same cable it's much thicker and better made anybody else notice this
I would have been highly disappointed if they didn't include a long cable for charging. If this is actually supposed to be a pro level machine I shouldn't have to be sitting on the floor next to the outlet to charge while using it :XIt is nice that Apple includes the longer cable.
So, to be clear, it's thicker because you need heavier gauge wire to transmit power over a longer cable distance. It's not that it's specially made nice.
It is nice that Apple includes the longer cable.
The cable with the watch is also 2m in length, so the 'longer cable need thicker wire' concept still holds there, too.I think Apple quietly improved the cable quality. I first noticed the thicker cable with my Apple Watch.
Actually the Apple Watch charger is the same thickness/gauge as the 1m Lightning cable, because the Watch uses a much lower current. The cable with the watch is also 2m in length, so the 'longer cable need thicker wire' concept still holds there, too.
So what I've said above is correct.Ok, just been through my 'big bag o'cables" which lives in my overnight bag. Every cable (including 1m and 2m watch chargers) is the same diameter cable except for two: the 2m lightning cable and the original, 1m 30-pin charging cable.
