hey all,

i was just reading the rules of the iTunes Pepsi promo, and in one part it says:

The computer of Apple Computer, Inc. is the official time-keeping device in the promotion.

what exactly does that mean? what is the computer? like a prototype with a built in atomic clock or something? :p

Perhaps it's their time server, time.apple.com. Don't bother clicking, it doesn't load anything, but it's the time server the system clock in Mac OS syncs with.

yeah, i guess that would make sense... but whenever you hear someone refer to soemthing as 'the' you've got to think it's something special, right?

just think! The Computer of Apple... The Computer!! :D

Evidentally, Apple is running a cluster, but I would think that the cluster would be synchronized somehow.

They run PHP 4.0.6, no wait, thats 4.3.1, ah yes, it is 4.0.6, oh, an upgrade to 4.3.2 and Apache 1.3.28, nope that didn't work, back down to 4.3.1 and Apache 1.3.27. While we're at it, let's cache it on a NetApp appliance... :)

i think oit's the time.apple.com

haha. april fools day they should say the promo is over as a joke and get people pissed and start to cry like the people did when they saw the PC'ed G5 case :p
