The constant stream of price deals...

Would it be possible to have a filter to remove the continuous stream of price deals I see when using the site?

I don't know about others, but I find them incredibly pointless and boring and it makes the site look very tacky. I'm sure some people make use of it, but I come to MR for Apple-related news. Not for deals. I can search on Google for that or a price comparison site if I want this. (Add to that, the deals you post aren't even relevant for me and 60% of your other users as we're outside the US).

Sorry if this sounds like a dig, but it would be nice to see cleaner and more relevant content. I'd even be willing to become a paying user if I knew I could eliminate these posts.

It's obviously more noticeable this time of year with the combination of holiday shopping deals and the slower news cycle, but certainly understand.

Paid subscribers can indeed filter posts like these over to the sidebar to get them out of the main feed:

I don't like them either, but it's understandable that they've got to generate income. That's the reality of media today. If it's "free", they got to make money somehow.

I think it's a fair trade to eliminate them via paid membership (though a little rich based on the value of the site to me)

Yeah I am located outside of the US so I just ignore these (as I also ignore "Apple Releases Safari Technology Preview 1584657 With Bug Fixes and Performance Improvements"). Can understand the income angle.
