How has apple come up with this price $199 US which is £124, but no the Uk market is looking at £499 which is about $700 this is crazy. The phone is no different but again the Uk gets the big price tag, and the best thing is it is locked to some network.

I for one will not be running out to be ripped off it is time that the Uk said wait a minute we also deserve a fair price and stop paying these huge markups.

I think you've got your figures wrong.

The iPhone 4S purchased unlocked in the States is $649 plus tax, available in November.

The iPhone 4S purchased unlocked in the UK is £499, available on Friday.

Without tax it's £415, which is $645.41. That's a price difference of $3.59 ;)

The $199 is a subsidised price on a 2 year contract and NOT the price of an unlocked 16GB phone which will be available in the US next month for $649. The £499 price here is for an unlocked 16GB model. You're comparing apples to oranges ( no pun intended ). Please get your facts straight before starting unnecessary new threads ranting about something that makes no sense.

Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; U; CPU iPhone OS 4_3_5 like Mac OS X; en-us) AppleWebKit/533.17.9 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/5.0.2 Mobile/8L1 Safari/6533.18.5)

Still a rip off, then you stuck in a 2 year contract and you out dated again.

I will just wait for iPhone 5 then upgrade
