It's all well and good that the Mac version of Office is still getting reviewed as superior to the Windows version. Good work, MBU.

"But most third-party programs are written for Windows PCs and then adapted, sometimes poorly and often months later, for Apple machines."

No, most third-party apps never even get heard of on Mac--or by most PC owners for that matter--and nobody misses them. It's not the dire picture some journalists like to make it out to be. If I have a choice of three great apps on my Mac for a given purpose, do I care that Windows users have four great ones and a hundred poor ones? Do I care that my Mac app was out eight months ago instead of eleven?

In other words, what exactly is missing on the Mac in terms of software? Certain specialized things that don't affect "the rest of us" the article is talking about. Meanwhile "the rest of us" do have some important things lacking on Windows--some of Apple's consumer (and pro) apps have NO match in the Windows world.

And the major apps tend to come out simultaneously for Mac, not later. This is even the growing trend with games.

I can't wait until Office comes out! It looks very impressive, and this article just adds to my personal hype. All the improvements look excellent, and I am particularly exited about the notes feature. Well, heres to hoping developement goes (and has gone) well!
