The Daily on the first generation iPad is horrendous. It takes over a minute to load up. I actually did a video of a speed comparison of loading The Daily on the first iPad and the iPad 2.
My friend has an iPad 2 and he has The Daily on it and it works sooooo much better. Unfortunately, I don't have an iPad 2 at the moment so I want to cancel my Daily subscription, but the app is so unusable that once I load it up and open the setting screen...it won't let me load account information usually. When it does load account information, under the header "Subscription Information" there is no button at all there. I would figure that's where the unsubscribe button should be but I guess not.

Is there another way to unsubcribe??

Go into Settings on your iPad, then to the Store. Sign into your iTunes account and there will be a place that says Manage Subscriptions. It will show your The Daily subscription, just turn the slider to Off and it will not renew.

THANK YOU! so much.
