Hey guys,

I dont really know much about computers so please go easy on me....

I bought an USB CD player from amazon, for my iMac

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07L58GSDF/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o02_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

When I insert a CD and it tries to read but I get an erorr saying "The disk you inserted was not readable by this computer" but it is just a normal music CD (not burned, normal store-sold CD )

I was googling it and it says to do first aid but the first aid part is grayed out. (I guess you would have the option if you get this error with an hard drive?)

How can I get this error gone? I want to rip some old school muisc to my iphone.

My iMac is running Sierra 10.12.6 but I tired with two different Mac books and it did not work.

THanks for your help

Do you have OTHER CDs nearby? (can be music or ANY kind of CD or even DVD)
If you try them, do you get the same error msg?

Or... is it ONLY with this one particular disc?

I tried the DVD and it opened but not an CD, which is weird....

If you can get OTHER CDs and DVDs to "mount up" properly, it's likely not "a hardware problem with the drive".

The fault lies somewhere else.
