Hi, I know that I can customize the dock quite much, different backgrounds and icons and so on. I can place the dock on the left, the right, and the bottom.
But is it possible to place the dock at the bottom to the left? How?

No. You only have those 3 choices. Be aware that many have posted here with severe problems after doing too much customizing on their Docks. The more you customize, the more you risk breaking something.

Actually, you can do it with something like Onyx. But yes, all these modifications can potentially cause a lot of problems.

As said, don't mess with it. Not worth it, IMO.

How do you feel about changing the name of Preview.app?

I used Onyx to place the Dock at the bottom right, I've been running that way for probably 3-4 years now without problems. There's absolutely no risk to that modification. Changing the Dock background and indicators isn't difficult either, I use CandyBar but there are a variety of other programs to do it safely.

Why would anyone be so against making small modifications like that?
