Are they of any use other than for zoom, DoF and Bokeh effects? Do they have any effect on regular shots? My question is, if a photo was taken without any kind of zoom with the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus, will they look identical?

I am wondering this myself... I thought there was some speculation that you might be able to refocus a picture after it was taken... but there was no mention of that today.

yes some lightfield capabilities. LinX white paper had some amazing capabilities. Maybe in the future :/
