I plan to stick with the 3G. I don't see that much of a difference (speed yes), but outside of that it doesn't offer me much more than what I have. If I have a camera to take pictures, the compass would only come in handy if I were lost at sea, video is meh. I'm not eligible for an upgrade till December, which works out, cause at that point I mine as well wait for the 4G in 2010 and listen to all the 3G S users bitch on how they're entitled to the new iPhone at the discounted rate as well.
Proves that Apple made the iPhone even better than ever, and therefore is the "real upgrade" that some of you are denying is not an upgrade.
Most places don't even have 3G and your worried about 4G..

Well whatever is coming June of 2010.

I'm a 3G owner, and I'm not happy that many of the features I'm interested in:
- Battery %age
- Voice Control
- Accessibility features
Are software changes that the iPhone 3G could easily handle. I would upgrade to the 3GS if it wasn't prohibitively expensive, but considering that my phone is capable of running these features and Apple simply won't allow it in software and you'll see why I'm not happy.
