I have a Macbook Pro (2.8 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo) that I bought in December 2009.

I am having a recurrent problem with the cursor freezing up. It happens randomly while I'm using virtually any program and sometimes when the computer wakes up. The cursor just freezes and nothing fixes the problem (trying to do a force quit does nothing). The only fix is shutting the computer down completely and restarting (shutting the lid and opening it doesn't fix it).

The problem is growing more and more frequent and I'm getting very frustrated. Mac's aren't supposed to freeze, I thought, but mine manages to freeze multiple times a week.

I haven't contacted Apple Support yet. I thought I'd see if anyone here has found a fix for this problem.

Thanks,

Susan

i would try to doing a permissions repair then a restart. i was having all sorts of wonky trankpad issues on my mid09 13" and that fixed it.
