Does anyone think that apple will release one final update for the originals of the family to address all of the security problems that exist in the 3.1.3 firmware? I know they did something similar when 2.0 came out and it cost, so some iPod touch owners didn't upgrade. What is the likely hood of this happening. Also do you think that apple would maybe include some some 4.0 features such as the Spotlight enhancements, Unified Inbox, Threaded messages, and multiple exchange accounts. These features could hardly be demanding on the hardware.

Yea, they've probably moved on and are done with 1st gen for good. I hope they do release a final update for security issues too though.
