The answer is: Nobody knows. It was originally expected to be out by Christmas, but that didn't happen.

Don't let these guys get to you. I'm right there with you stuck with an iPhone I'm not sure whether to take back to AT&T or give in and just use their service. I have heard that as soon as 4.3 comes out there will be an unlock. I know its frustrating but in the end it'll be worth it.

i'm actually switched to AT&T for now but i really want to unlock it before June 1st... since i'm going out of the country....
