Not to sound stupid, but what is the green button for, if not for making things full screen? When I click it on Safari, it does absolutely nothing. It seems redundant for them to have that green button, and the fullscreen button.

It's to make the window as full screen as it needs to be. Basically, the width of a website and the height (limited by your screen size of course)
