When it is plugged into my computer it stays green and doesn't charge.
Any ideas as to why this is or what I should do?

Sounds like a bad battery, but if it stays green when not plugged into the laptop the magsafe is faulty and potentially dangerous. Do not continue using it, get it replaced under warranty or buy a new one.

I'm confused. When it is plugged into the computer it lights up but gives no power charge and when it is unplugged, the green light stays on?

Yes. The light on the charger is constantly green when its plugged into an outlet whether it is plugged into the computer also or not. I looked through the forums and didn't see anything like this yet.

Make sure the connector is clean?

Definitely a faulty magsafe adapter. It's never supposed to do that, ever. If you're under warranty, get it replaced, otherwise buy a new one.
