So Apple mentions its Grid System a lot when talking about the design of iOS 7, and they have good reason to; it's extremely clever. I would have assumed that the Grid System would also extend out of the stock icons, into the App Store ones as well, but no. The iLife icons seem to be the worst offenders. Just take a look at this example:

The hell? In a few parts it seems to conveniently slip into place, but from what I can see it just doesn't fit properly. Why not? Apple has so many capable designers and yet while the stock icons are no problem, they can't follow the Grid System for the App Store icons.
But saying that, even a few of the stock icons just don't appear to fit (Messages stands out to me). It really isn't that difficult to fit all the icons perfectly into the Grid System. Heck, I managed it with the icon set I'm making. Why can't one of the world's most valuable companies do the same?
Sort. It. Out. Apple.
