A few years back a developer announced he was developing a Playstation 2 emulator for Mac OS X. After some searching, I found this old thread from late 2001 about The Grinch Project. But, I can't find much more about it. I'm guessing this never came out.

Certainly, PS2 emulation cannot be that technically difficult anymore, given the advances in processing power since the PS2. Back then, before the Intel switch the discussion was about the difficulties in emulating the PS2 with a G4 or G5. These days, even the lowliest Mac bears Core 2 Duo processors. Of course, we all know the largest obstacle to such a project is legal, not technical.

It's just such a shame. With the limited variety available for Mac gamers, it would be an awesome win to gain the large library of the PS2.
