Wanted to share a nice (and free) app for the iPad.

It is a series of photos taken by photographers for The Guardian newspaper. Many of them relate to current events. Updated very frequently. The app is a viewer that shows the image along with some background commentary about how it relates to current events around the world. The images are worderful and look great on the iPad.

One of my favorite features is a little button that changes the commentary text to a "pro tip" that relates to the image. These tend to be very basic "pro tips" and can at times be amusing. These tips aren't provided by the photographer (in one case the comment came off as a subtle jab by the editor aimed at the photographer).

Ooh, very cool. Wasn't aware of either of those. Will download and try them out.

People have any other suggestions?

You're being awfully generous calling them "basic". :)

But the photos are stunning. I love slowly dissecting them. Lots to learn.

Basic might be the right word. Once you know what you're doing what else do you need to know? The camera and lens maybe, I think they would only serve as a curiosity. You need to make your own judgements.
