Hip Hip Hooray for the HomePod!
Can’t beat it so might as well rant about it. Please don’t come on here with reports of your HomePods working flawlessly. We don’t want to hear it because it just ain’t true 🤣.

Maybe we can all get together and bombard Apple’s inbox with bug reports.

I’ll start with my two faves:

1. Personal requests- 100% of the time since late iOS 15
Siri: “Who is speaking?”
An extra step now that I have to say my name before she does anything personal/HomeKit. Siri, c’mon sweetheart, we’ve been living together for the past five years. You’re breaking my effing heart.

2. Enabling/disabling an alarm toggle in HomePod settings. I have to toggle it at least 10 times before it sticks. My kids each have a HomePod Mini in their rooms. Each one has two alarms set for school. When they have a holiday day off, I disable the alarm for that day. It’s the same song and dance. Disable the toggle, leave the HomePod settings page, go back in, the toggle re-enabled itself and so on. This also happens when enabling the alarm toggle. I spend 10 minutes out of my day just trying to toggle an alarm on and off. This has been going on since OS 14 I believe.

Plenty others but those are the two that have been really irking me lately.

I´m a desperate man, now. At my wit end.

IOS 16/Monterey 12.6 have been terrible for me in one specific area. Bear with me, please. Siri answer fast, homekit works fine (or so it seems), BUT, for some reason, Apple Music (specifically Apple Music), is VERY slow. Both on the homepods and on Mac OS. On IOS 16, using the same network, tracks play blazing fast, even lossless ones.

But specifically on the homepods and the Music app on Mac OS, it´s like Apple Music is only receiving a tiny amount of my bandwith.

The Mac app buffer and ends beachballing when clicking on a song. The homepods say that song X will start playing but take a LONG time, and then cut out and buffers.

And then there is the home app state. NOTHING has improved. New design, yes, but we still have to suffer the toggles from hell (turn them off and they will turn back on and viceversa). Often it will show a previous, incorrect state of the home accesories, and you´ll have to force quit it and reopen it to force it to refresh.

Sorry about the rant, but this is getting on my nerves.

You get the toggle bug too? I thought I was the only one, especially with Mr.Blacky’s post above…. Extremely annoying. Just setting an alarm is a song and dance.

I’ve been saying for a while, the Home app seriously needs a pull down to refresh.

According to the 16.1 beta liner notes, its coming. "Infrastructure changes to to the Homekit core/home app, for much better performance, stability and reliability". But at this point, I wont believe until I see it.

Perhaps the introduction of the Matter protocol demand a much stable homekit foundation. We´ll see.

Awesome, I’m tired of force closing then re-opening the Home app when it doesn’t behave, which is quite often.

Number one works for me almost always.
Number two works for me always.
Now what?
🤔
So you don’t have this issue at all? I counted 26 times I had to go back in to toggle the alarm off. It’s a 2:33 long video just to get the damn alarms to disable lol. This has been going on since last year at least.
