I thought it might be a good idea to start this new thread.

If you have recently purchased any Apple product - iPhone, iPod, Mac, accessories, anything - post it here.

  • What did you buy?
  • What was the cost?
  • Is it as good as you expected?
  • Would you recommend it for anyone else?
  • Include any other comments.
  • And pictures of course!!!

My most recent purchase, to please eXan, was my iPhone.

I'm on a $29 Optus plan (Aus) which is fine for me (well, i went $30 over in the first 2 months but I've cut down since then :rolleyes:).

I really like it - it was well worth the wait ("wait" because i got an IOU from my parents on my b'day, July 6).

I would definitely recommend the 3G iPhone to anyone, because i think it is worth all the hype.

The usual pleas (copy and paste etc.) but overall it is great.

I will get around to posting pics (because no-one knows what an iPhone looks like) sometime soon.
 
I wanted to show off.

What was the cost? Bunch of Optus Contracts $29 for 8giggers, $39 for 16 gigers
Is it as good as you expected? Yes, but the overall awesome-ness gives way to general appreciation of how good it is to use, but battery is a bit sucky.
Would you recommend it for anyone else? Yes, but usually mention the bad battery thing.
Comments: I'll be pissed if the 32 giggers come out this Christmas.
And pictures of course!!! I forgot to upload the pics I took of all 5 phones next to each other from my camera (that means the pic right below here is just of empty boxes).

Clearly I couldn't spell that night :(. And there are only 3 phones here because the 16 gig iPhones were on backorder. And the top image was taken after the 16 giggers arrived.

Finally got the images to work properly. For some reason they 'uploaded' to MR servers, it shows the links, it shows the file sizes, but when you followed the links it said the link was invalid.

Anywho, this post is just to readvertise this thread on MRSpy :D

Okay after this no more questions until more people start posting more of what your thread is asking for :D Don't want to make this all about me (but I guess in a way I don't mind all this attention :p)

I'm the youngest by decent margin, 21. Parents are actually tech-illiterate, but hopefully the iPhone is easier for them to use.

Okay, to please those who had a go at me, here are my photos.

The case is an Exo 2Tone (Electra on Black) which I picked up for A$20. I think it's fine. And the blue glows in the dark too!

The background i picked up off http://www.sciphone.net/ and i have a bunch of others from there as well which i interchange every now and then.

I'm sure you are very interested.

And some screen shots as well just to show you around.

I know how to spell AWESOME correctly!!! :p
