Rep just came out. No 64 Silver in any carrier. Low Gold in 64 for VZW. 32 &16 Silver Att and VZW. That's low too. They can't tell specific numbers but a guy asked if everyone here wanted a silver would they get one. The answer was no. There's about 20 of us here now. Space Grey seems ok in carriers and capacities.

They are going to give reserve cards out at 0500.

Very similar story here. No gold on Verizon. Limited white on Verizon. Seems to be plenty of space gray.

Some guys at the front of the line of 14th St. NYC store said that an employee "confidently" told them they have plenty of everything. Hope it's true.

Okay so can someone tell me why I thought the new iPhone supported CDMA and GSM carriers? I swear Apple said a single phone supports them both.

Apple person told me no unlocked models in store, you may be able to do carrier specific "device only" which is still carrier locked but un activated and not associated with an account.

Additionally, a Apple person here (City Creek Center, Salt Lake City) said to the first in line that he probably wouldn't be able to get two gold 64 GB AT&T because there wasn't enough stock, meaning only one gold 64 GB AT&T model.

It's just one phone yea. They probably have a allotment for each carrier as to be fair.. And won't cross sell..

Oh that makes complete sense. Hmmm... But I did just see in another thread something about the CDMA chip not be enabled in phones not sold by Verizon? Thus you'd never be able to use an AT&T phone on VZW? I'm so confused.

can anybody ask if we can buy device only or do we have to activate/transfer service before walking out?

i only ask because if you bought an iphone 5 at full price for AT&T last time, when you go home and restore it, its automatically unlocked.

Here is the deal. With CDMA, Verizon has to have the ESN in their records. In short, if it wasn't sold as a Verizon phone, no, it won't ever work on Verizon. This isn't a technical detail, but a beurocratic one. Same reason why the Sprint and VZW phones aren't swappable; neither carrier is will to activate the "other carrier's" phone.

But can you ask them to confirm with a Manager:

If one could purchase a LOCKED AT&T iPhone at Full price, If they do not have an AT&T account.

(I don't mind if it's a locked phone.. I just need it to be an At&t version to work with my Straight Talk Sim)
