Is there anyone here who uses an Imac for programming in java and application design?
I am probably like many others, but in the last 18 months I have been toying with the idea of having an Imac or MacBookPro.
I have a fairly high spec i7 2600k, 2Gb Radeon 7850, 12Gb Ram PC I bought two years ago. I have taken the MacBookPro out of the equation as I am looking for one system that does it all with the least amount of cabling on my desk. Less fuss the better.
I am currently studying at Open University doing a degree in Software Development in the UK and trying to judge the £2,300 cost to possibly start building apps three to four years down the line, or holding off buying till then to get the best I can.
If I do buy, I will buy the top end model.
I am or was a gamer with the likes of StarCraft 2, Battlefield 3, DOTA2 but have gotten tired of Windows OS costs and 4 year upgrades (and no I am not touching Windows 8
). The gap in MAC gaming to PC seems to be closing up per new iteration recently.
Your help or wisdom would be greatly appreciated.
