So I just got my 2g 16gb ipod touch and I was wondering about the internet. I will admit that I was watching porn on a website with the ipod touch (you can laugh or whatever but please dont just post a reply that says "haha you loser..." or anything like that) and I dont want anyone to find out that I watched it if they ever use my ipod touch or something like that. So to do this do I just do SETTINGS > SAFARI > "click" clear history, clear cookies, and clear cache???

Also can you tell me if Im doing it right and it will be impossible (not including govenment or hackers, etc.) for anyone to find out.

THANKS!

PS- what is the difference in cookies, history, and cache?

sounds about right..

but you might want to quit Safari as well to be sure.

This is done by holding down the home button for 5-6 seconds while safari is open.

Other than that, i think you'll be safe..but you might want to browse through a web proxy as well, because then it will be very hard for anyone to track where you surf...

Ok sweet, but that does quitting out a Safari do? Like I held it for 5ish seconds on google homepage and it just went back the menu with all the applications.

Thanks for the quick respond

It returns to homescreen right.

I'm not sure if this is still the case, but i recall that even after erasing the stuff you mentioned earlier, it was still possible to "go back" in safari. Therefore someone could just press "back" to se what pages you had visited. It's also is quite easy to forget to close the eventual multiple tabs in safari, so open tabs can "expose" you as well.

Force quiting Safari takes care of these concerns

ok ty ty!

And I SHOULD clear all right (history, cookies, cache)?

Because I only know what history means and I dont know what cookies or cache means.

I guess its the best thing to do if you want to "leave no traces"

Cookies is used for e.g "Remember me" functions on websites and such. Cache is for reloading the pages you have visited before faster I think.. (I'm not really sure :p)

there are 3rd party browsers in the app store that give you privacy/porn mode. aka no cookies, cache, etc

If you want to delete all of your history about your porn so no one can find out, why did you post about it on a public forum that anyone can get to and read if need be?

Because his wife is going to know exactly who he is by the name theone1, and she frequents these forums more than ME.

Hmmm, but doesn't that mean he'll now have to clear out the history, cookies and caches from the computer which he used to post these posts, to hide evidence that he is "the one1"? :D

Just get a wife/girlfriend who doesn't mind if you do a little porn surfing. Problem solved. :p
