Will Apple announce both the iPhone 5 and iPad 2 at the same event or will they be completely separate shows? The reason for asking is that I am curious about the updates to the iPhone.

Right now my hype for the iPad 2 is beginning to decrease due to bare minimum specs that are being rumored. I want the iPad to be at least on par with the new iPhone before I make the purchase. It doesn't necessarily need Retina Display, but if the iPad jumps up to 512 GB and the iPhone gets a bump to 1G. I will pass again. There is no reason for a phone to have better specs than tablet PC…

I think they'll be separate events as the two devices are for different purposes.

I expect the iPad two very soon, and the iPhone around July.

Different events.
Ipad2-announce feb release march
Iphone5- announce June release July

Just my thought

It will probably be along the lines of the above post. The iPad 2 will most likely launch in April, and the iPhone 5 will be announced at WWDC and launched in the June/ July timeframe.

iPhone will get dual core processor and 1gb ram plus awesome camera like 8 mega pixel.

iPad will......hmmm

512 mb ram
Dual core processor
1 megapixel camera

Awesome.
