iPhone 16e The iPhone 16e will be fixed TOMORROW !!!

So one of the problems about the iPhone 16e is his price, so you are going to say why the 16e price is going to be lower tomorrow, well here is why :

Normally Apple keeps the normal 2 years old iPhone on his store, when the 16e got released it was an exception with the iPhone 14, first of all it’s because of USB-C and Europe then because the 16e is better than the 14.

So tomorrow when the 17 will be released, they will drop the price of the 15 at 599$ like the 16e ! Apple cannot keep both of those phones at the same price… people who are saying that this is ok because because both phones are similar are kinda right but there is a SECOND BIG PROBLEM UNEXPECTED !!!!!!! :

The iPhone 16 !! His price will drop too !! It will be at 699$ so 100$ more expensive than the 16e now… With this phone you get all those crazy features :

- Extra GPU core

- Camera control button

- Advanced dual-camera system with an Ultra Wide camera (for 0.5x zoom)

- Next gen portrait

- Macrophotography

- Spatial photos and videos

- Next gen photographic styles

- The dynamic island

- Last gen Ceramic Shield

- MagSafe

- Faster wireless charge

- Brighter display !

- Some other features like cinematic mode for videos, action mode and more…

A very good upgrade compared to the 16e for just 100$…

With the iPhone 15 at 599$ and the iPhone 16 at 699$, Apple could have more difficulties to sell the iPhone 16e !! So here is what apple is probably going to do :

- Drop the price of the 16e (can be like 100 or 50$) (we will be happy)

- Drop the iPhone 15 and hope that people will buy the 16e (The problem is that many people might get the 16) (kinda sad for us)

- Do like I say, iPhone 15 at the same price as the 16e and the 16 100$ more than the others. (Apple will suffer but they will release a 17e early next year)




So yeah we are either getting a price drop or a weird situation where we know that Apple should release a 17e early next year… Personally, I don’t think that Apple is doing great in 2025… A price drop would be very good !!

As a 16 Pro max owner who wrote off the 16e, mostly due to magsafe...



- Extra GPU core - don't care - at this point ALL iphone SOCs are faster than the OS can make use of

- Camera control button - don't care, its crap - from personal experience owning the 16 PM with it

- Advanced dual-camera system with an Ultra Wide camera (for 0.5x zoom) - ok

- Next gen portrait - ok

- Macrophotography - ok

- Spatial photos and videos - shrug

- Next gen photographic styles - shrug

- The dynamic island - ok... its slight better than notch but ok...

- Last gen Ceramic Shield - it will still break

- MagSafe - prior dealbreaker!

- Faster wireless charge - charge overnight is normally enough

- Brighter display ! - meh

- Some other features like cinematic mode for videos, action mode and more… - meh


I think on balance, if it is $100 more than a 16E its a fail. Same price as 16E and its probably still a failure.

Fact is, apple need a cheap iphone option with magsafe. for people who care about cameras, etc. there's the regular iphone or pro. The 16E is already too expensive; the SOC in it is way beyond what anybody really needs in a phone but they nickle and dimed freaking magsafe.


Save the money by putting an earlier/older SOC in it (without AI), include magsafe, maybe cut down the battery (heavy users can get a magsafe battery or go higher tier).. even cut another CPU/GPU core if it makes it cheaper/better battery by using junk tier current gen SOCs with broken CPU/GPU cores. Still way fast enough for entry level. Job done. Try to hit $499.

I really think $499 ($750 aussie pesos) is a psychological financial barrier. ~$1k AUD for an entry level iphone 16e (current pricing ish last i checked) is just... too much. I suspect > $499 US is probably the same for a huge number of USA peeps - never mind 699.


Then again, the cynic in me thinks the 16E was more about making the 16 regular look like good value by kneecapping the 16E in some ways but not using cheap enough parts in other ways. i.e., you're not supposed to actually buy the 16E. its to get you in the door and then work out that the 16 is actually far better value and you'll step up to that instead.

It worked for me this time, escalated quickly to a 16 pro max. I guess apple got what they wanted. I couldn't bring myself to spend THAT MUCH on a 16E to have a crap experience; if i'm in for that much money already i may as well spend a bit more to not have all the compromises.
