I just tested this on my network. Both phones were equal distance from the router, and this is what I came up with.

iPhone 3G:
Down- 5149 Max
Up- 838 Max

iPhone 3GS:
Down- 8886 Max
Up- 979 Max

A pretty significant improvement if you ask me. ;) Anyone else notice?

yup! its awesome!

I did an impromptu test between my new 3G S and my old 3G loading nytimes.com over wifi, and the 3G S did it 14 seconds faster!

Using the Speedtest App, my 3GS isn't that much faster than my original iPhone.

I get maybe 50 more mb/s faster on the 3GS for download, and a better upload on my 1st gen.

Me too more than doubled .

I used to get about 5000 down and 1500 up.

Now I'm getting 11000 down and 1800 up.

Why would this be more processing power? I do have An AE extreme dual band would this matter?

Mine definitely seems about the same as before. It's just slightly slower than what I get on my MacBook. 5100 down versus an average of around 4500 down. I've used three different speedtest apps at least one of them gets almost 5000 down. Some of it could depend on what test I'm using.

My Phone has to be messed up then, Im taking it back today.

Here are my tests results.

Using 20m/2m Charter Cable with D-Link DGL-4300 Router. (Sitting about 12 inches from router)

20 tests per device.
Average Upload/Download Speeds Using "Speed Test App"

3Gs ( Of course 3.0 OS) - Average DL 2.7 mb (Min/Max Range 1.8-3.2) / Average Upload 2mb
IPod Touch (2.2.1 OS) - Average DL - 4.2 MB (Min Max Range 3.6- 4.4) / Average Upload 2mb

I will update later with the 3G (Wife has it and shes at work) (Currently has 3.0, have 2.2.1 on Backup)

I don't

I don't seem to be able to get UPLOADS speeds on wifi to be near what my actual speeds are.

I have 6mb/750kps here, I get about 5.1mb/700kps, but the speed test apps show only about 275 kps up on the iphone 3gs.

i did some comparisons side by side with my wifes 3G and my 3GS...peggle, internet and ishoot...the load up time on mine is just crazy faster
