Winocm has revealed the successful jailbreak of the iPhone 5 on iOS 6.1.4 via a picture just posted to Twitter.

In the screenshot seen below, Cydia is shown running on the phone. At the very bottom of the screenshot you can see the iPhone 5 device and iOS 6.1.4 firmware specified.

About a week ago, winocm announced that he had a binary that would perform an untether of the iOS 6.1.3 jailbreak. At that time he had only tested the jailbreak on an iPhone 4.

It appears as though winocm's work on the jailbreak has progressed to the iPhone 5 and iOS 6.1.4. At this time there is no ETA for release; however, you can follow iClarified on Twitter, Facebook, Google+, or RSS to be informed of any new developments or release information.

Update: It looks like winocm was also able to get the jailbreak working on the CDMA version of the iPhone 5 as well.

Do you know how easy it is to fool the home screen of Cydia? So easy I can have my old iPod Touch 1G stating that its running iOS 7.2.1.

Correct !
Some time ago MuscleNerd listed the requirements of a "proof of jailbreak" video.

Until winocm meets those requirements, we shall withhold our endorsements.

Or you can easily photoshop it as well.

I think the guy posted a video some days ago (which you can also forge etc), but haven't seen it.

In any case every day that goes by I see jailbreak as something I probably won't hassle with in the future. All of this wait just for a few tweaks.

I've definitely learned to trust our vets and if they say it's a no go, then it's a no go!

They've been around many blocks, more than a few times!

Maybe there's a secret listening program on it called Lore.

Nothing new, check out this thread:

Like said before the Cydia home pages is easily edited to show this kind of information, it happens every 'fakebreak'.

Again iDownloadblog posts 'proof' without checking the merits of the story, they have a habbit of doing that and then editing the story afterwards if it is proved to be false.

I'm not sure why the above comments have all been conforming the JB for 6.1.4 a fluke?

@wincom release a "DIY" Jailbreak...i guess all you have to do is make a tool for yourself.

As for those code savvy members on here? anyone figured out how to do it? Or if this requires "your own" exploit? I'm currently not understanding it right now because @wincom release a code on his twitter and it contains a jailbreak apparently.

@ih8sn0w commented on it, it was discussed earlier on reddit, it is not a releasable jailbreak and you need your own exploits, it is a failbreak like JB, something like chpwn had prior to evasi0n. Also it is not for iOS7

It is suspected that most big Devs have the abbility to jailbreak 6.1.3+4 and iOS7 but can't release because it depends on developer priviledges or holding off until iOS 7.

Unless you are a real good coder not much use.

technically the iPhone 5 has been jailbroken on 6.1.4 for a while, the evad3rs did it to see if their exploits still worked. Sorry to be "that guy" :p
