I am surprised that I haven't seen this anywhere - feel free to point it out if it's out there. Apple's invite "Hey Siri" seems to be a blatant nod to the next round of iPhones having discreet listening capabilities to answer requests at anytime even when not plugged in.

Sure this wouldn't be the first advancement like this, the Moto X has had this for several years, but in traditional Apple fashion they will roll it out as a new feature and probably with a dedicated co-processor and an eye on battery conservation.

Thoughts?
 
Maybe it's not about iPhone, but AppleTV! It can listen all the time for sure... Maybe it can even send responses to Your iOS device?
