I have an iPhone 4 CDMA Verizon Wireless, and the iOS is 6.1 10B141 with a jailbreak on it. I was going to restore my phone to do a refresh restore and than do a re-jailbreak with evasi0n. I followed the instructions from one of my earlier threads on here and the instructions are posted by another member. When I do Shift+restore and after the Extracting software, I get an error that says The iPhone "iPhone" could not be restored. An unknown error occurred (11). I don't know what that means and I don't know how to fix it.

So, how could I restore a jailbroken iPhone and than re-jailbreak it again?

Here are the instructions I followed:

1. run ifaith
2. click build signed ipsw with blobs
3. select the dumped .ifaith extension blob (keep a local backup of it just in case)
4. it'll verify that the blob is valid and complete, then choose download for me when it asks you to choose the firmware
5. once done downloading, depending on the instructions, choose the downloaded ipsw and click continue
6. it'll build the ipsw package and stitch the blobs in it
7. once it is done building the ipsw package, it'll give you instructions to put the device into pwned dfu mode
8. once in pwned dfu mode, open itunes and hold shift, then click restore
9. select the custom firmware that ifaith made for you and it'll restore to iOS 6.1
10. once on iOS 6.1, download evasi0n and jailbreak

Try it first, you'll need valid full manually saved blobs, 6.1 IPSW and the host file needs to point to apple

Huh? I don't understand what you mean and I don't understand it without instructions.

There's always google. There are guides out there teaching you how to use the software. It's a pretty well known software

If you wish to jailbreak, it's advised you have some knowledge of what you're doing so you don't mess up. But in the process, try to pick things. Not everyone will hold your hand and guide you the whole way all the time

Anyways, make sure you have at least iTunes 11.0.5, if not a lower version. iTunes 11.1 and higher messed up how custom restores work

Why am I getting an unknown error 11 as described in my OP with those instructions which you gave me as I copied/paste them in my OP?

Did you read what I typed in the post above yours?

@TriJetHero:

I found a tutorial on how to jailbreak iOS 6.1 with sn0wbreeze. I'm guessing you meant to use sn0wbreeze to jailbreak and not evasi0n?

Secondly, should I just download the IPSW from somewhere like iClarified, and my put my phone into pwned DFU and restore in iTunes and after restoring than use sn0wbreeze to jailbreak?

Third would be don't follow those instructions in my OP using iFaith and just use iTunes to restore first and use sn0wbreeze to jailbreak?

Please reply back by answering those questions so now I have a tutorial to follow. http://www.idownloadblog.com/2012/11/12/how-to-jailbreak-ios-6-and-ios-6-0-1-with-sn0wbreeze-2-9-7/

Do some more research on how things work, you cannot restore directly with itunes, use sn0wbreeze, if you run it, it will guide you through the process, yes the IPSW from iClarified is fine

before you do the shift + click restore, is your device in pwned dfu mode or normal dfu mode?

I don't know. But it's hold power and home for 10 seconds when the phone is off than continue holding home and release the power but hold home for 30 seconds.

Oh. I do this every time to enter pwned DFU and I had no errors but I am releasing the home button too soon. When I get to limera1n, I release the home right away when I am suppose to continue holding it until it is complete.

I just found out by a Google search.

You're in normal DFU mode if you just do the hold home and power for 10 seconds and then home button for 30 seconds

iFaith has the feature to change DFU to pwned DFU mode

Pwned DFU mode is required to shift + click restore custom firmwares

That's the instructions iFaith gave me to enter pwned DFU. Now I don't know how to enter pwned DFU.

I suggest you stop your efforts here, at this time it appears you lack the needed skill or knowledge to bring this to a succesful end.

Besides that you also same to have trouble in following instructions provide by tutorials or by the people here that are trying to help you.

What you are not understanding. How is that not pwned DFU? I even get a message in iFaith stating I'm in pwned DFU mode. And I'm not following instructions? Excuse me, I followed it as exactly onscreen with iFaith for pwned DFU and I even got a message stating I'm in pwned DFU. Every tutorial all over google states that is pwned DFU based on how I did it described above. So, how is that normal DFU? Since you can't tell me how to enter pwned DFU which makes iFaith and everything else incorrect.

Please for your own good, please stay stock or restore to 7.04

You are rambling at me for something Darrick sailo posted.
