just posted by i0n1c on twitter:

BTW it is good that @comex clarifies on jailbreakme.com that the bug was indeed not fixed in iOS5. Well until that one guy leaked it.

That doesn't sound very promising :(

Unless Comex was waiting for ios5 to release the jailbreak then it is inevitable that this hole will get patched.

Doubt it, it is only Userland, 4.3.4 will be with us within a week to patch the pdf vunerability.

Regardless of when the JB came out the very new update was always going to patch it anyway.

Everyone was already expecting it to be released any day, the beta didn't just leak out of nowhere while he was moths away. Comex had already put up a second teaser and made twitter comments like "just need a bootstrap..." and "running out of bugs to fix" without ever saying a word about holding it back for iOS 5.

If Comex says he was going to hold it back for months (and just decided not to tell the thousands of people waiting on it) then I'll believe it, but all signs were that he was going to release it well before iOS 5 and thus it would be fixed anyway.

Hell if he was going to hold back that long, a whole lot of people probably would thank the leak for getting it released now. It's not like it's automatic that the iPhone 5 and iOS 5 will take 4 months to jailbreak. Wont they get far more developer interest due to the many times larger userbase?

also this i0nic guy since jbme.com is out he is only moaning on twitter!
he is jeallous or something? then he could come up with a new jb tool...;)

I'm not sure what your sentence means, but this same vulnerability exists in iOS5 Beta 2.

it means unless comex had waited for ios5 to be officially released not some buggy beta version there was never any hope of this working with ios 5. Lets try and remember that a lot of the tweaks in cydia wouldnt even work properly in ios5 anyway and would have to be rewritten.
