Oh crap. I was even looking for Flip4Mac 2 days ago, and can't believe I just missed it.

I'm just gonna download WMP and stick with that, because I really don't know why I can't just download the beta.

I like being able to do a save-as even when the site has tried to disable it... so I'll probably stick with what I've got right now...

anyone want to post the install package? Flip4mac took it off of their site, I can host it on my idisk

is the .24 version universal? I really miss flip4mac on my macbook pro!!

yeah, but it is a bit glitchy on large wmv files and streaming from Comedy Central. I was hoping .29 fixes these.

Heres a direct link to the file on my idisk, you can download the beta there too (filename: Flip4MacWMVv2_1_0_29.dmg)

copy the url from your location bar, open the terminal, then type
Code:
user@wonderfulMac:~ $cd ~/Desktop
user@wonderfulMac:~/Desktop $wget '(command-v)'

and you should get the file right on your desktop. If it can be downloaded, it can be saved.

BOOOOOOOOOO!

[edit 1]Oh thanks, Palad1 for addressing the solution. Must have skipped that conversation.

Unfortunately it doesn't work for quicktime links like the ones on Apple's Trailers site (HD ones). Although, if its in a temp folder it should be able to be accessed. Its just a matter of finding where that is.

[edit 2]Viewing the page's source will work to find the link but that is a major pain.

[edit 3]To no avail I still can't download it even with the link to the movie. All Safari will do is create a bad file. Smart Apple.
