The Lion wifi prob, only with open connectoons

Hi again

Anyone Got a fix? I've just taken my MacBook around a friends and connected to his secure connection no prob at all. It appears to be open non-password protected wifi that Lion has a problem with.

Any help would be great as this is really doing my head in.
