I switch around a lot from using my 6 ft power cord for my iPad and my MacBook pro. Does it matter if the little slide in nubs for the power block get mixed up or are they exactly the same?

the power bricks are NOT the same. if you plug your iPad into your MacBook power brick there is a chance you could fry your iPad.

If you mean the AC or Mains bit, it's completely interchangeable. You can even use shaver cords in a pinch.

They are the same, this assumes you are talking about the slide off plugs or cable.
If it is the brick then they're not the same. There is writing, or should be, on the brick. Best to check that out and see if the voltage is the same. I think the iPad is 10v whereas a MBP is nearing 18v. I could be wrong on both counts.

Edit: ok so it's just duck head thingy itself. Then the above poster is likely correct.
