This week's addition to the Apple Arcade subscription gaming service is "The Lullaby of Life," a new title from developer 1 Simple Game that explores the origins of life through a relaxing, immersive, sonic experience.

In The Lullaby of Life you are the catalyst for change in a universe currently inert but filled with potential.

Explore this amazing world that combines relaxation, dexterity and agility, and help it reach its maximum splendor using the power of music to make life bloom.

This adventure has no textual elements, and wearing headphones is highly recommended. Let’s write together a new story about the origin of life!

"The Lullaby of Life" is available to Apple Arcade subscribers on the App Store for iPhone, iPad, and Apple TV, as well as in the Mac App Store. Apple Arcade provides iPhone, iPad, Apple TV, and Mac users with access to over 100 games with no in-app purchases or ads for $4.99 per month after a free one-month trial.

I don’t know about this game, but I do like the selection of Arcade games. I don’t have time for in depth games like those found on consoles and what not, the games they have are good for people who just want to play 10-20 min at a time.

When I first switched to Mac 10 years ago, I would have wanted to see more games. Apple is weak on games, it’s never been what they were interested in despite it being a huge money maker for other companies.

Everyone so far has fallen in to the trap of too narrowly defining "gaming" as big AAA, 100 hour titles playable on PCs with massive video cards.

That does not square with reality. More money, more people, and more time is spent on mobile gaming than all other categories combine. Link

The idea that Apple is "weak on games" is tired and out of date. The publishers are chasing where the money is, and increasingly that is on Apple handheld devices.

I think there are some entertaining games on Apple Arcade and of course the catalog will grow over time (has any games been removed yet like what seems to happen on other subscription based gaming services?), but what I do dislike is that the games that are also available on other platforms and on other stores don't seem to get a macOS version on those stores.

For example Beyond a Steel Sky on Steam only offers the Windows version and the same is the case for Roundguard – I'm wondering if this is a deal with Apple that if the game is avaliable on Apple Arcade the Mac version can't be sold on other stores? If so it makes me want to stop subscribing to Apple Arcade for that single reason. 😠

I also like the idea of letting us purchase individual games that's included in Apple Arcade just like how Microsoft does it with Xbox Game Pass.

Just read an earlier post today on MacRumors about Apple spending big $$ to buy films (such as Greyhound) to boost their TV plans. Now if Apple were to buy premier games and release them on Apple Arcade ....

FIFA 21...Apple Arcade

Does Apple arcade feature any shooter game or similar?

This week an interesting game showed up on Steam, GOG and other stores titled Carrion. If you watched the movie The thing, you know, what you will get. 😉

Apple Arcade games are picked up by upper class hypsters who don’t play games. They want games for the fake people they use for their ads. They want games that are not games.

Who actually plays this stuff?

I would never think Apple Arcade would never over-take iOS games at any point, nor in the future, if Apple keeps up this trend.

Apple go on about the power of their silicone and metal, yet why the games so mediocre? I won’t buy/download anything that involves in app purchases. Most games make the characters/cars run ahead, so all you can pretty do is move left and right jump or perhaps brake a little, what crap. I don’t want game automation I want full control Of everything I do on it.

Great, just one more game I will never play. I love Apple, but they were just never good with gaming.

Except for the millions of people who play on the iOS platform every day. The game isn’t even made by Apple so I’m not sure what you’re trying to express.

Well made game, but after an hour I felt I had enough of it, and just adding more complexity for each level, just didn’t make the game any more enjoyable.

Thay are in the Mac App store app, yes. But you can only play them if you subscribe to Apple Arcade – no way to buy them separately. Or am I missing something?

I did however find that the game Creaks that recently got added to Apple Arcade can be purchased for Mac at the GOG store, so it seems at least not all games that are available on Apple Arcade is limited to only be played there if one wants the Mac version.
