Prior to Apple's switch to Intel, predicting what would be coming through the pipeline was much more difficult because PowerPC updates were very clandestine. However, since moving to intel, this has all changed and we can make reasonable predictions about products that we may see through the end of the decade.

I've created this post to collaborate on such a roadmap for the Mac Pro.

My own crazy speculations:
-MacPros seem to see major updates on an annual basis.
-Major updates to MacPros will see updates ANNOUNCED in January. They may not be ready to ship.
-The "Early 2009" update will be a Nehalem chip. Possibly "Bloomfield?" Same $2799 configuration price.
-"Early 2009" may see an update to the look of the MacPro b/c of 45nm architecture?
-The "Early 2010" update will be the Nehalem chip "Beckton." Likely 16 cores total in a 2x8 configuration with a configuration price of $2999. Starts at 3.2ghz.

Anyone else care to speculate? (or correct me?)
