In this episode, we initially discuss some of the standout features in iOS 16.2, including Apple Music Sing, the Freeform app, and Advanced Data Protection for iCloud, before moving on to the biggest iPhone 15 rumors to date, including the switch to an "Ultra" title for the "Pro Max" model, a titanium chassis with curved rear edges, adding a USB-C port in place of Lightning, and an all-new 6x optical zoom periscope telephoto camera lens. We also look at some of the most likely impending controversies regarding the devices, such as USB 2.0 speeds on the standard iPhone 15 models despite the switch to USB-C and the potential problems brought on by moving to solid-state volume and power buttons.

I'm surprised to see Quinn on this site, but even more surprised that he's talking about the iPhone. Most of the content on his YouTube channel is Mac or miscellaneous focused.

I passed on the 14 due to no USB-C because I shoot video that takes forever to transfer with Lightning and I'm tired of Apple's ignorant, slow transfer rate. If the 15 has crippled USB-C I will pass on that too.

I never understood why iPhone is called "Max" while the M2 has "Max" and "Ultra". It's getting confusing.

Why not iPhone 15 Pro, iPhone 15 Max and iPhone 15 Ultra?

Just like M2 Pro, M2 Max and M2 Ultra.

I am also waiting for the 15 only if it has USB-C. Otherwise, I'll stick to my 11 Pro Max another year. Also: I'm not paying anymore for Pro. So I hope they do get USB-C in the standard 15.

Marques does thoughtful videos.
Marques does a very swell job. I see him praise and criticize all companies quite equally.

Also, I gotta say. You have it going on my friend. The username, the profile pic, all of it. It comes together very well. 😄

Spoiler alert: It'll be exactly like the iPhone 14... and 13... and 12... with small, incremental improvements.
12, 13, and 14 were part of one three-year cycle, just as X, Xs, and 11 were part of a three year cycle.

And while I can't say that the jump from 11 to 12 was as big as the jump from 7 to X, I'm expecting 15 Pro to have quite a few meaningful changes and a new design.

I think iPhones 15 Pro are going to be significantly different from the 12-13-14 iPhones Pro.

But at the same time, considering what Apple did for iPhone 8, Xr, 11, and 14, I don't expect the mid-tier 15 to be a big upgrade. Apple might hold back the mid-tier even more to push Pro sales even further than what we saw for 14.

I'm still on the 12 pro-max-whatever-whatever, and not planning to upgrade unless there is a motivating reason. It's not the money. The money is a nit, as long as there's no subscription to pay. I hate subscriptions; I break out whenever I have to think about them or pay for them. It's not the cost; it's the hassle. It's exhausting going through upgrade steps. That's actually my main reason for NOT upgrading.

Snazzy Labs is one of the better Apple centric YouTube channels IMO. He has no problem giving Apple criticism when it's deserved as well as praise.. His channel has evolved nicely

Snazzy has some of the worst takes and is often wrong. No thanks.
