On this week's episode of The MacRumors Show, we discuss the announcement of WWDC 2025, key iOS 18.4 features, and more.

Apple last week officially announced that its 36th annual Worldwide Developers Conference will begin on Monday, June 9, and end on Friday, June 13. As with WWDC events since 2020, WWDC 2025 will primarily be an online event that is open to all developers. We discuss how the event artwork appears to allude to the complete redesign rumored for iOS 19 and the recent report which claims Apple is working on an AI health coach feature for the Health app.

We look at the key new features debuting in iOS 18.4, including Priority Notifications, Apple News+ Food, Ambient Music, and more. The AirPods Max with USB-C also received a significant update, adding support for lossless audio, ultra-low latency mode, and more.

We also talk through a recent report which claims that Apple is still exploring solid-state buttons with haptic feedback for a future iPhone. The MacRumors Show also has its own YouTube channel, so make sure you're subscribed to keep up with new episodes and clips.

Re: priority mail. If an incoming mail is put in the wrong category than you desire, right-click or two-finger-click on an incoming mail to select the desired category. Future emails will automatically follow suit.

With tariff news, iPhones could get lot more expensive, which probably would mean lower sales for new iPhone models.

I wonder if Apple then becomes less ambitious with iOS 19 especially if they are anyways expecting slower adoption of new iPhones and AI.

Having said that, Apple is probably in a bind because they have screwed up on iOS 18/AI and have already hinted that iOS 19 will be a redesign.

@Dan Barbera and @Hartley I realize that on occasion an illness or other reason prevents you from recording a show. It would be helpful if you would put a notice on the front page of MacRumors stating that there will not be a show this week in those cases. Last week I had to send Hartley an email asking if there was a show.

Given the direction of Apple (time for a leadership change) and the failure to deliver last year, what is there to get excited about. WWDC 2025 will have very little to cheer.

i would say a complete redesign is something to cheer for something different.

while al roll out is slow the design can and should be improved
