The new banner for macbook says "One year Later, Light Years Ahead" Well the one year later part is for the app store but the "light years ahead" is a measure of distance and not time. I am thinking that the apple tablet will make an appearence at the show, with light years ahead meaning a bigger screened device for the app store aka iTablet.

Seems like an awful lot to deduce from "light years ahead". Maybe it means they have cracked time travel.

That would probably be more likely

Apple has a tendency to say something about there new product in the banner for its event. Like macworld 2008 "Theere's something in the Air" and of course that day the Macbook Air was released.

That was the ONE instance in recent years. Remember the golden gate bridge that everyone was trying to figure out?

It's WWDC, not Mac World. Interesting thought process, but I really doubt it. It's just a simple message. The App store is a year old and it's the best store for phone applications, hence the "light years ahead".

That has only happened twice. "Light-years ahead" refers to the App Store being light-years ahead of the competition. NOTHING more.

Honestly.

Also macworld 2007 slogan was "We need to talk" and that is when the iPhone was released.
And another from 2007 was "Its Showtime" the release of the apple tv.

That one was obvious too. There were two bridges, they were talking about the TWO software platforms they had. Why can't this one have hidden meaning too?

You've been listening to Skil too much.

Hence it only happening, twice.

Three.

Air, iPhone and AppleTV. I don't know the Time machine counts as forth (the message was like something, the first 30 years was just the beginning, welcome to 07)

I think somebody should do a history of Apple's Macworld/WWDC banners and see how many of them actually contained clues.

Nah you all are thinking too much. "Light" year as in not heavy, meaning they're finally going to eliminate everything from the chassis of the Macbook/Pro lines and sell only the unibody construction. Only 18 ounces! MagSafe adapter not included.

Purhaps it's referring to Mac OS X Snow Leopard; A year later, and possibly SL is LIGHT on system resources? Or maybe the system is LIGHT compared to Leopard and other OS X versions (meaning much smaller footprint/space)

IDK. Just a guess.

When the iPod Touch was released the slogan for the event was "And the beat goes on" meaning a new ipod.

You are pretty much reading tea leaves.

  • And the 32 on the gas pump signifies a 32gb iPhone.
  • The magnifying glass above it is for search on 3.0
  • The "light" on light years is in regards to an OLED iPhone screen

Damn, I thought I could come up with more than that, what do you see? :D
