the mail app doesn't bring up my contacts

The mail app just automatically reconfigured itself with my google account. Now my contacts don't show up as automatic suggestions when I start typing. Does anyone know how I can fix this?

If your contacts are on the GMail website, then Mail will not bring them in just because you use it with your Gmail account. Mail's primary source of contacts is Address Book. It also uses addresses from previous messages.
