So round 1 is finishing up, Leaders Justin Rose and Trevor Immelman at -4, Mickelson at -1, and Tiger is even.

Tiger always starts any significant tourney slow. His Thursday rounds are usually his highest score. He seems to really get going Fri, Sat, & Sun with Sat being his strongest day.

Phil seems to be missing a lot of easy shots. They are saying the course is playing tough today.

Yeah it looked that way. I guess holing out your tee shot on 16 is one way to gain a couple strokes.

Looks like its going to be a #2 finish for Woods, his 5th second-place finish in major championships (Nicklaus had 19 2nd places to go along with 18 wins.)

This thread just further proves my point that watching Golf is extraordinarily boring.

Ha, Ha, Ha

I was thinking the same thing

The Masters is an event, it is just as much about the course as it is about the game itself. Hey it is not as boring as soccer.:p

If anything else The Augusta Country Club might be one of the best looking things on earth.

Oh, the event I get (I live not far from Augusta)
And it is a beautiful place, maybe one of the most beautiful ever

And I keep up with the leaders each day, even though I don't play

But to sit and watch it
Nah, rather watch paint dry

And soccer is on my list of things not to watch too :p

Man I really hate this sort of behaviour on forums. Just because you don't like something doesn't mean you have to go out of your way so you can start slating it just to draw attention to yourself.

Anyway, this years Masters was a good one. Immelman played very well and held his nerve when around him other players where dropping off. In golf if your playing partner is struggling it is very easy to rub off on you. Immelman also had a health scare a few months ago so it is great to see him up and about. I know one of his rivals in his amateur days and he said Immelman was very arrogant but I think he has calmed down and has turned out be yet another solid performer from South Africa.

As for Tiger, I don't think I have seen anyone hit the ball as well from tee to green, so solid. Some of those iron shorts he hit today where out of this world. If you look at the very makable puts he missed today; 4th, 13th, 14th, 16th. Well there is 4 shots and the win!

It must be very demoralising to his competitors to think "Yeah I played really well and won, but I know that Tiger was 3 shots back and didn't play that well."

I would love to see Woods win the Grand Slam as I think he is the purest ball striker around and when he hits his irons well it is a joy.

Anyway, well done Trevor and bring on the US Open.

I wasn't trying to draw attention. The OP knows my intentions and nobody else took offense to it. Learn to take a joke.
