Hi

Have you been able to use the ML as a daily driver and NOT scratch your AW?

Currently I am using the leather link with my SB Titanium. I really like it, but on hot humid days in NYC, I woukd imagine that leather is not the best option. My wrist sweats a lot, so I have ruled out sports bands. I have a sports loop, but find it hot during these months. This leaves me with a stainless steel option.

Really I would prefer to continue to use the leather link, as a daily band, if I could. Has anyone continued to use a leather band during the summer? How often should I clean it, if I continue with the leather link? Would I be better with a Hermès leather band? Thanks.

AW 5 (natural Ti) I have a leather loop. I wore it daily (except for exercise which I use a sport loop) and periodically used Apple Leather conditioner on it.

AW 6 (natural Ti) I have a graphite Milanese loop. I switch between it and the leather band but do find during the humid summers of NC that I use the Milanese loop more often.
I don't have any scratches on the natural Ti due to the Milanese loop.

I just ordered a braided loop and will give that a try and see how it is in the humidity.

I have the same combination on my AW 6. No scratches yet. I wear the solo loop for workouts.

I think you'll like the braided loop. I've had mine for 6 months and it's very comfortable in both warm and cold weather.

@jaybar, I think I'd be more concerned with the Hermès in hot, humid weather than an Apple Watch leather band since the Hermès is so expensive. Are you spending a lot of time outside? If not, I don't think I'd be too concerned. However, if you're spending hours in the humidity, I'd give the Milanese a try.

I also have a braided loop, which IMO, is great for hot and humid weather. I'm in TN, so I totally get you on the heat and humidity. Right now my main bands are Milanese, braided loop and solo loop for workouts.

I've used a Milanese band for years (original style) with two different aluminum cases and no scratches. I don't see how it could scratch the Watch. Would this happen when you take it off and lay it down somewhere? If it is on your wrist the band doesn't contact the case. Sorry, but I think I'm missing something.

I have the black one. Currently I have a gold aluminum case which goes well with the black band. I do like that it breathes. I have always had trouble with watch bands because of sweat.

From what I have seen on the forum over the years, taking the band off and laying it down is when users of said band have incurred the ugly scratches. Even members who were very, very careful ended up with scratches on the watch. This kind of scenario seems to happen to many of the people here.

ive never had an issue with the Milanese loops and I’ve used them for years. However, I will admit that the space black loop can be dangerous if you’re not careful. But the sweat proof nature is precisely why I used it.

Or just keep using your leather link band with the mindset that you’ll buy a new one when it starts looking ratty. Probably by this fall.

Thanks to everyone’s comments. Share more thoughts for those who have had the ML.

I have the same amount of scratches from my ML as I have from my sport band. I just fold the ML behind the watch when I charge it. Can’t really see what the issue is unless you’re careless or unlucky (if there's such a thing?).

There, now I’ve jinxed myself enough for today. :)

Thanks. Using the magnetic charging dock in nightstand mode.

Silver Milanese won’t scratch sapphire.
the black DLC band will scratch it.
