I just caught the end of the Apple Watch tv ad in the UK. In small letters at the bottom of the screen were the words we all fear: "Subject to availability".

Erk.

LOL I've seen a lot of posts about people wondering what happens if they run out of a certain style watch...would you go for the next one up, etc, if that's all that's available. But welcome to a new Apple product. That's how they demand the lines!

Click bait title. This is typical ad language. Everything on the planet is subject to availability.

I must admit this is a worry of mine... I've no idea how many watches Apple has stocked for the first wave of orders but with quite a few countries getting I imagine they'll go pretty quickly. Fortunately I can have my finger on the button whenever pre-orders go live so hopefully will be able to get one.

If these are the most chilling words ever written to you, please get off the internet and go outside and experience life.

The disclaimer may just be because the Edition is featured in the commercial and Tim Cook already said that there would be a limited quantity of Edition watches produced.

For everyone who decided and preorders well before the 24th I doubt there will be a problem. Waiting and going into an Apple store on 4/28 to by a certain style and you may be out of luck.

Indeed, you SHOULD be worried :)

According to the Wall Street Journal, during the first quarter, there will be only twenty-five aluminum watches produced, just twelve stainless steel units, and over sixty million gold Editions.

(Yes, I'm mocking the WSJ's earlier predictions that misled a bunch of us.)

There's going to be plenty available.

I was a kickstarter backer for the Pebble watch, and it was almost exactly 1 year and 3 weeks from the time I became a backer, ( and I was in the first million dollar group) until I got my watch.

I got it to use until Apple came out with their watch, and yes Apple was not at that time even admitting to working on such a thing. My Pebble still works OK but I'm looking forward to the Apple Watch as it can do so much more.

Anybody want to by a Fitbit?
