I think by far and away the most important and overlooked feature are parental controls. I'm so sick of seeing apps being rejected because of the F word, or devs having to step down the violence in their games, or rejections because of nudity.

With parents being able to restrict apps, I'm really hoping this opens the floodgates to more mature apps and makes it so using a bad word doesn't keep great apps out of the store.

This would be very nice if this is true. I wouldn't mind a little more violence, profane language, nudity in some apps. I don't really know if this will happen though.

They are relaxing things a bit, but still won't allow content that would rate 18+ on PEGI or Adults Only on ESRB

They will allow apps with rating up to 17+, which includes "frequent and intense offensive language", "Frequent and intense mature horror", "frequent and intense fantasy or realistic violence" and "sexual content and nudity".

They won't allow "Graphic sexual content and nudity", or "Prolonged graphic or sadistic realistic violence"

So whilst they will happily sell you Saw or Hostel the movie, it's not clear if video games based on them would be allowed if they included clips from the movie as they could definitely come under the "prolonged graphic or sadistic realistic violence"

Have you seen this printed somewhere or is this just a guess?

EDIT: sorry, didn't see the attachment you added. ignore this post

Even if it's short of Porn and some very over the top violent games (which i don't agree with) it should be a step in the right direction. As long as the days of rejecting because of the possibility of the F are over. I can't say for certain if this is good enough, it'll be interesting to see how they approach the ratings and what they allow in.

Personally, I think it sucks that they would censor at all now that parents have the power to stop their kids from viewing it. And they might not, we'll just have to see.

Apple should look into allowing porn. Every teenage boy would want one. New target market?
